Dr. Jessica Reese is an Assistant Professor of Research in the Hudson College of Public Health at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center (OUHSC), with expertise in clinical research, epidemiologic methods, and data analysis. She has experience as a clinical trials coordinator performing clinical research on various hematology-related topics, including multi-center clinical trials funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). In addition to the NHLBI funded clinical trials, she has conducted research on several investigator- -initiated projects with a specific focus on hematology as it pertains to child and maternal health. Since joining the faculty, she has been conducting research with Strong Heart Study (SHS). The SHS is an NHLBI funded, multi-centered prospective cohort study of cardiovascular disease in American Indians. While working with the SHS coordinating center, she has been collaborating with other investigators, both internal and external, to perform data analysis and develop manuscripts related to the SHS, with a specific focus on cardiovascular health in adolescents and young adults. In addition, she serves on the SHS steering committee and as coordinator of the SHS publications and presentations (P&P) committee. She is also a member of the Oklahoma Public Health Association and the American Heart Association.
