The mission of the Hudson College of Public Health is to protect and improve the health of people through public health education, workforce development, research, service and advocacy.

Hudson College of Public Health Strategic Plan 2023-2028

The Hudson College of Public Health has a tradition of providing education for both public health practice professionals and public health research scientists, conducting research and scholarship on contemporary issues in public health, and providing public health service to the community, state, and nation.

For each strategic pillar, our strategic plan outlines strategies, tactics, and key performance indicators. The Hudson College of Public Health Strategic Plan aligns directly with the OUHSC Strategic Plan. This alignment extends to the overarching goals of the University of Oklahoma consistent with its strategic plan and mission, including its initiative to collaborate with the Evaluators from the Higher Learning Commission in preparation for its 2023 self-study report and site visit.

Public Health Advisory Board

As the only accredited School of Public Health in Oklahoma, we are committed to rigorous academic and professional standards to ensure excellence in our educational, research and service missions. To maintain this high standard, we ask health, business, industry and civic representatives from the community to work with us in an advisory capacity to maintain continuous quality improvement.

Purpose and Structure

Members serve as advisees for the Hudson College of Public Health Dean and faculty on matters relating to the education, research and service missions, and to help ensure our programs meet the needs of both governmental and private sector employers, as well as the needs of our partners and stakeholders.

Meetings are structured as a gathering of thought leaders that can actively engage in productive dialogue to strengthen an academic and service partnership.

Membership

The Advisory Board consists of 15 to 25 members broadly representing all aspects of public health, education, healthcare, business, and the community. A few alumni and student members are also included. The term of Board membership is 2 years with reappointment possible.
