C19C Student Feature: Sara Watson

The COVID-19 Committee (C19C) is a student-led committee that recruits and connects OUHSC students to COVID-19 projects and initiatives happening on campus. The C19C also recognizes student involvement in the fight to end the pandemic.

Sara Watson, an MPH epidemiology candidate, served as a lead laboratory assistant for the COVID department at OU Health. She received, accessioned, and triaged all COVID tests and implemented quick turnaround times for testing so patients received their results promptly. She was in charge of creating staff schedules, specimen drop off schedules, and spreadsheets depicting trends in testing.
